Author and illustrator Ed Spruill brought his “Kids Show” to Woodville Elementary School on Tuesday. Mr. Spruill is the author of Jordan’s Hair, Jordan Wants a Brother and Mya’s Magic Money Machine. These stories are based on his own children and he has created a puppet show featuring these characters. His latest story, Bearilla The Bully Behaved teaches how to recognize and confront a bully. Students were delighted by his puppets and the chance to dress up and be part of the show! Mr. Spruill will visit several elementary schools in Leon County as part of Celebrate Literacy week. Woodville Elementary in the Superintendent’s Spotlight
Woodville Academic Carnival
The kids had a blast! It was a great blend of Wellness/Fitness, Literacy, and STEM related stations the children and parents rotated around. The Woodville Branch Library came to sign up folks for library cards and share their database of resources, Emergency Management passed out safety info, and we even had help from our feeder school with the Nims Pep Band playing.
Thank You to everyone who helped out, we cannot wait until next year!
Taita Scott, Assistant Principal
