On Friday, August 31, fourth grade students in Mr. Howard and Mrs. Adams’ class welcomed Olympic athlete Maurice Mitchell into their classroom. Mitchell, who ran in the 200m against Usain Bolt in the London Olympics, spoke to the students about respect and hard work. The students were eager to listen to the Olympian recount his tales from London, ask him questions, and to top the day off, run along side of the athlete at recess. As a keepsake, Mitchell autographed photos for each of the students.
